Dear ABINITioners who loves Linux boxes,
Although this is not directly related to ABINIT,
still I just thought that the following URL might
be useful to Linuxers.
http://www.brodo.de/cpufreq/24stable.html
It says that the patch might work to control speedstep
of CPU for Linux: download the patch for your CPU (if available),
then recompile the kernel.
Then, if you are lucky, you could confirm the speedup with
cat /proc/sys/cpu/0/speed-max > /proc/sys/cpu/0/speed
or "xengine" etc. I have just learned this from a Mailing-list
for Japanese Linuxers. It said that it could be effective.
I have not yet tried this, so you could try it "at your own risk"...
Regards,
Masayoshi Mikami
