- Subject: abinit 4.2.3 parallel installation woes
- Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 03:12:20 +0100
We are trying to install abinit 4.2.3 onto a cluster of AMD athlons running
linux using the precompiled sequential+parallel binaries and
minimal+parallel tests for LINUX-Pentium (Intel Compiler).
After downloading the binaries, we adjusted the Run perl script in the
Test_paral directory to match the configuration of our cluster.
Our cluster runs the ch_P4 version of MPICH_1.2.5.
When we run the following command:
./Run our_machine_name A > logfile 2>&1
Abinis works without error, but abinip gives the following error message,
even for the cluster1 (1 node) case:
0 MPI_INIT ; MPIRUN chose the wrong device ch_P4; program needs device
ch_shmem
** Address Error **
Can we specify the device to be ch_P4 while using the precompiled binaries?
(We didnt see a related option in the makefile_macro script.) If not, where
do we specify the device to be ch_P4 upon compilation?
Thanks.
