We are trying to install abinit 4.2.3 onto a cluster of AMD athlon’s running
linux using the precompiled “sequential+parallel binaries and
minimal+parallel tests” for “LINUX-Pentium (Intel Compiler).”

After downloading the binaries, we adjusted the “Run“ perl script in the
“Test_paral” directory to match the configuration of our cluster.
Our cluster runs the ch_P4 version of MPICH_1.2.5.

When we run the following command:

./Run our_machine_name A > logfile 2>&1

Abinis works without error, but abinip gives the following error message,
even for the “cluster1” (1 node) case:

0 – MPI_INIT ; MPIRUN chose the wrong device ch_P4; program needs device
ch_shmem

** Address Error **

Can we specify the device to be ch_P4 while using the precompiled binaries?
(We didn’t see a related option in the makefile_macro script.) If not, where
do we specify the device to be ch_P4 upon compilation?

Thanks.
