    Can anyone tell me how to do optical properties calculation using ABINIT? 
Are there any examples ?

Hello,

Why don't we try "grep -i alch" (or alchem or whatever)
in the ABINIT directory  (and the subdirectories)
to find relevant documents ?  Namely,
        grep -i alch Infos/*
        grep -i alch Test_*/*
and so on ... Then, you might want to refer to
Test_v3/t90-95 as such examples.
