Dear Prof. Ceder,

Here is the ABINIT ML. 
So you might want to ask the same question 
on a ML specialized for VASP ?
(They do not provide such opportunity ?)

Anyway, from my experience on ABINIT with Absoft 
ProFortran/XLF for MacOSX (thanks to Jean-Michel !),
IBM XLF (v.8.1) seemes to work well (but it may not work for VASP, 
from a Japanese WEB page that I noticed by Googling); 
the XLF might be better than Absoft ProFortran v.8.0. 
While Absoft ProFortran v.8.0 failed several Test_*, 
Absoft ProFortran v.8.2 failed with most of Test_*, 
unfortunately. Absoft v.9.0 seems to be released soon, 
but I have not yet tried this beta version for ABINIT ...  

You can try the demo versions of XLF/ProFortran that are available 
at the Absoft Web site (www.absoft.com); registration is needed.

To the forum subscribers: 
about this topic (as well as intel IFC v.8.0 for Linux), 
feedback for ABINIT will be welcome !
