I have compiled it with Intel's EFC (their compiler for EM64T, allows to use more than 2GB of mem) and it looks like it works well so far, though more tests are needed. I have only tried the serial version.
The importat lines of the makefile_macro I used are:
# Machine type
MACHINE=P6
# Fortran optimized compilation
FC=LANG= /opt/intel_fce_80/bin/ifort #LANG= is necessary due to a bug in Intel's 8.x compilers
FFLAGS=-FR -O2 -xW -tpp7 -ip #O3 compiles but fails to run tests
FFLAGS_LIBS=-O3 -xW -tpp7 -ip
FLINK= -static
LIBS=-L/opt/intel/mkl701/lib/em64t -lmkl_lapack -lmkl_em64t -lguide -lpthread -static #This is for Intel's BLAS

Hope it helps,

Has anyone got ABINIT working on AMD Opteron (amd64 or "x86_64) bit
processors?
I'm using Red Hat Linux (RHEL3) and PGI compiler.
