Anyway compiling from sources can't be a bad idea because mpi parallel
code can't be staticaly linked and depends on the MPI installed on
your own machine. It is common to have some problems with this even
thought I can't say anything for sure with what you've sent on the
mailing list.
It may be possible to give you some better piece of advice if you send
me a tar.gz with all the output from abinip on all nodes (every
temporary and status files included)

The cluster do have nfs. The following runs ok on every PC:
/abinitbin-4.6.5/abinip < tparal_1.files > logp
Do I have to compile the source code ?
