Dear Abinit friends,

This is my 2nd email to you! Firstly, I would like to thank Anglade
Pierre-Matthieu for his advice!
You welcome

This time, my questions are as following:
(1) Can ABINIT be used to investigate the structural and electronic
properties of the narrower band gap (about 0.5eV) semiconductor?

Certainly. Use GW for this.

(2) Can ABINIT be used to investigate the magnetic materials?

You have both spin polarized and colinear spin within abinit

(3) I'm a CASTEP user and have some knowledges about DFT, but I'm a novice
at ABINIT. Has ABINIT almost the same fuctions as CASTEP? How do I quickly
mast ABINIT? Can you give me some advices?

I don't know about CASTEP and then can't answer for the first part. of
your question For the second it's quite easy: see
http://abinit/Infos_v4.6/Tutorial/welcome.html
where you will find both generic tutorials and more specialised things
like lessons on GW which might be of uttermost interest for your work.

sincerely
Thanks!
Xiao Deng
