Computational Materials Scientist Group Leader - Manager

Position open for Computational Materials Scientist Group Leader/Manager in a
nanotechnology start-up company (in Silicon Valley, CA) focusing on
multi-scale modeling and simulations of new composite nanoparticle material
in the catalyst application area.

We are searching for a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or
associated disciplines with solid foundation and demonstrated extensive
experience in understanding and modeling of surface chemistry at the Quantum
physics level for nano-catalyst material design and development. It is
highly desirable for a candidate to have working experience in Quantum
mechanical density-functional theory methods and molecular dynamics
simulations as well as data analysis and data modeling of heterogeneous
catalytic reactivity. The successful candidate should be able to lead the
company computational team and activities to make solid connections between
Quantum chemistry level modeling simulation and experimental characterization
processes and results interpretation. A prior knowledge of heterogeneous
catalysis development in automobile catalytic converter or related field will
be useful. A proven technical team leader with greater than 2-5 years
industry experience is essential.

Key experience: Organometallic chemistry, homogeneous or heterogeneous
catalysis, surface reactivity chemistry, theoretical chemistry with DFT
(Density Functional Theory), quantum chemistry, management experience.
