Hi,
I'm not sure to get perfectly your question ecause usualy, people
don't speak about "install" because there is (by default) no cop in a
linux computer which is in charge of preventing you from working. As
long as you get a compiled binary you may use it. So people would
usualy say "how to compile abinit ?".
If this is your question, then you haven't give enough information for
us to help you.
To compile abinit you mainly need only a valid fortran compiler ?
If you don't have one, you can get freely "g95".
Afterwards everythings depend on the version of abinit you want.
For 5.2.2 (and more generaly 5.x.x) you can issue the following commands:
./configure
./make
And you likely get a valid "abinis" binary. You can test it by doing:
cd tests
make tests_min
results stands in newly created report files (find . -name '*report*').
For version 4.x and earlier things are a little bit more complicated.
But are you sûre you want a 4.x ?
If anythings from those advice don't work find, feel free to ask
again, including as much detail as possible about what you have done
and what you have get.
regards
PMA
