Hello,

compiling 5.3.0 on an IBM/xlf90/AIX or linux/i386/ifort we get a wrapper 
for the fortran compiler which calls itself instead of the compiler. This 
hangs the make, and generates an infinite string of calling scripts...

Bad. Should be easy to fix, but I haven't read Yann's notes on the build 
system yet, so it won't be me!

Replacing the line FC="..." with the correct compiler name gives a nice 
make. Still have to try the many --enable options though.
