Why not following Both Abinit and my suggestion :
Use prtkpt to determine a suitable kpt mesh which will use shiftk 0 0 0 as Abinit suggested.
If you encounter problems due to level degeneracy, try to introduce a small tsmear with occopt=3.
This will allow you to finish you calculation. However you might need to choose much more converged parameters to get your elastic constants.
