You need to subscribe to the list in order to be able to post messages:

This is exactly what you should expect. It is really not a bug, it's a
feature! ;-)

You *do not* need to modify the configure script, except if you are making
structural changes to the source code. And even in such a case, there are
helper scripts to do the job for you (mainly GNU Autoconf). Thus the
"configure" file should *never* be edited manually.
You can obtain a complete list of the configure options by typing:
./configure --help
from the top source dir of ABINIT. A detailed config file template is also
located at:
~abinit/doc/config/build-config.ac
It contains all necessary information to use a config file to build ABINIT,
as well as a complete description of all available options.
Please note that you need a MPI installation with Fortran 90 support
activated in order to build the parallel code of ABINIT.
Should you need more help, do not hesitate to send further messages to the
"forum" list. The answers will then benefit to all ABINIT users. You may
consult the mailing list archives as well.
Best regards,
Yann.
