Dear member of the abinit forum,
May I draw your attention to the possibility to obtain
support for ABINIT (as well as formation or direct help/collaboration for
calculations) through the EUropean Theoretical Spectroscopy
(http://www.etsf.eu). Request for support (formation, collaboration) for
other software applications linked to ABINIT, like DP, EXC, SELF, OCTOPUS
...
is also welcome.
This was advertised sometime ago on the present mailing list,
but today is the last day for the submission of the proposals.
As an example, people often send an e-mail on the forum mailing list,
several of them get answered, but many are not answered.
This depends crucially on the availability and good will of one of the
developer or expert user.
If you submit a ETSF proposal requesting ABINIT support,
and get accepted, then somebody might be assigned to answer your questions,
and, in the future, you will get quick answers from him/her.
The submission procedure (http://www.etsf.eu) is quite light.
It requests you to define
your scientific project (10000 characters at most), and then to specify
what are your needs (2000 characters at most). Concerning the latter,
you might choose to ask for a direct collaboration, but this means
several weeks (months ?) of work to a ETSF person, while you might ask just
for support and formation, and this is much lighter
for the ETSF (and might have more chances to be accepted ...).
If you are a beginner with Abinit, I would strongly suggest you to try
to submit a proposal ...
Best regards,
Xavier
