- Subject: [abinit-forum] A question about running paralellized Abinit 5.4.4
- Date: Fri, 25 Jul 2008 05:38:40 +0200
Dear all abinit users,
I am running the parallelized Abinit 5.4.4 (MPI version for x64_64 Linux) to
calculate the screening file for GW calculation of GaP band structure. I run
the program on 5 pc nodes with totally of 16 cpu. I usually encounter a
problem
of one or two nodes getting disconnected and the error "connection
disconnected
by peer" is shown. This is obviously not Abinit's problem but our own
network's. However, when this happeneds and I reconnect to the nodes, Abinit
seems to resume its calculation. My question is that if the calculation is
continued until completed would its results be reliable? Or should I be on
the
save side by restarting it all over again.
Hope to get some advices,
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Thanusit Burinprakhon
