If you don't want to read everything, I would quote:

But besides, ETSF_IO can't work with gfortran 4.1, so try to
reconfigure with --disable-etsf-io this may help. For the rest of
ABINIT, I don't know exactly. If it creates a binary anyway, run a
make tests_acc in the tests directory to be sure that the binary is
valuable.
