Dear Mattieu,

Thank you very much for your reply.I installed the latest version of abinit, 5.8.3. But when I first called cut3d from the ubuntu terminal, it said that I do not have cut3d installed on my computer and that I must call "sudo apt-get install abinit". This installed cut3d, but apparently an old version. Do you know how I can get the latest version of cut3d installed? Sorry, I am a unix novice (would I simply download the latest version of cut3d, from where?, and then replace the old cut3d in the same directory with the new one?),

Thanks for your help,

Markus

you probably have an old copy of cut3d lying around in your PATH, or
installed centrally on your computer. Try specifying the explicit path
to your copy of cut3d when running it. Take care that this may also
mean you are running old versions of abinis anaddb etc... Which
version of abinit did you install?
