Hello Vinayak,
gfortran-4.1.0 is an early release, quite buggy and officially not
supported - it is mentioned in the doc. Abinit is not an exception; many
fortran codes exclude gfortran 4.0 and 4.1.
I have little information about your environment - you're running a 64
bit Redhat Enterprise Linux probably version 4 but I would suggest to
install a recent gfortran compiler. It is not a huge task to build a new
gfortran 4.3.4 or 4.4.1 from the source at gcc.gnu.org (you will
probably have to build new gmp and mpfr libraries too). More info about
the configuration details if you want to. Another option is to install
an Intel ifort 11.1 compiler - RHEL is supported, licensing details on
www.intel.com site.
Kind regards,
Alain
