Hello, I am running a response-function parallel computation on a cluster with
hundreds of processors under the linux environment. The calculation exit with
several error messages as the title said, 'forrtl: severe (174): SIGSEGV,
segmentation fault occurred'. Does anyone know how to figure it ?

What i am calculating is the dielectric tensor of aluminium. After learning
the
lesson on Optic, i wrote my own input file for Al. I set kptopt to 1 for all
dataset, since its symmetry. Some key variables are as follows,

ngkpt 80 80 80
nband 80
ecut 14
occopt 3

npkpt 40
npband 1
npfft 1

The job was running on a cluster with hundreds of processors, and i assigned
40
processors to do this job. The memory of each node of the cluster is 16GB. In
the .out file the memory need most is 7.5GB. So i think the error might not be
caused by insufficient memory.

While i set ngkpt 60 60 60, nband 60, ecut 12, npkpt 2, npband 1, npfft 1,
and
assigned 2 processors to implement the job, the abinip program run
successfully.

So, did anybody know how to solve the segmentation fault ? Another problem is,
even i set ngkpt to 60 60 60, the imaginary spectrum and Reflectance spectrum
of Al was not smooth which had sevel peaks.

Thanks for your advice, it would be appreciated.

ps: Abinip was complied on linux with mpich2.
