Dear ABINITers,
In order to improve communication between ABINIT users, we have setup the
ABINIT forum as a means to share information. You can access this forum at the
following web address:
http://forum.abinit.org/
This forum will eventually replace the mailing lists "forum" and "developer"
at
some point in the next few months. In the meantime, both the ABINIT forum and
the ABINIT mailing lists will be in function but we encourage you to use the
ABINIT forum and help us make it a better tool for the community. The mailing
list "announce" will remain but note that these announcements will also be
posted in the forum section "News & Announcements".
Note that you will need to register to the ABINIT forum in order to post
messages. This can easily be done by accessing the "Register" page in the
upper
right corner of the page.
Email Digest:
------------------
It is possible for you to setup your account on the ABINIT forum to send a
"digest" of the posted messages that will be sent to your email address. This
feature reproduces about the same functionalities of the current mailing list
except that you will receive only one message with all posted messages
concatenated.
To setup the Email Digest, once you have registered to the ABINIT forum, go to
the "User Control Panel" using the link in the upper left cover of the forum
window. Once there, click on the last tab titled "Digest". You will then be in
the "Basic" tab option where you can set a daily, weekly or monthly digest and
the format and specific time you want the message send to you. Note that
replying to a specific message in the digest has to be done on the ABINIT
forum
web page and there is a link to each message in the digest to quickly access
this message. You can also further customize the digest by accessing the
different options using the left tabs. In the "Posts Selection", you can
select
specific forums that you want to follow.
RSS feed:
--------------
The ABINIT forum also provides a RSS feed. You can setup the feed by accessing
the configuration of the Smartfeed using the link in the upper right corner of
the web page. There, you will be able to select which forum you want to
follow.
Suggestions:
------------------
We welcome your suggestions to improve the ABINIT forum. You can post your
comments and suggestions in the topic "Suggestions for Forum improvements" in
the "Developing ABINT/Testing and Documentation", or follow the link:
