So try to choose this approach : this requires at least the nbands to be a multiple of the number of cores or cpus.Philippe, just a comment : this is not required that nband is a multiple of the number of cores.
The parallelization is indeed performed on empty states (thanks to Matteo Giantomassi's work).
To achieve optimal distribution, the number of _empty_ states is advised be a multiple of cores.
Any other value would be accepted by the code and would result in a very, very small waste of CPU time.
