Oops! Sorry - ~230 MB in /tmp
And swap space is ~230 MB also

Tnen I have next question to you namely.
Your preferable manner of installation procedure is
"cd /usr/ports/science/abinitio; make && make install clean"
or
"./configure; make; make install" in the top level of abinitio sources 
directory ?
