Dear ABINIT users,
I am a new user of ABINIT. I have installed it on Windows. I tried running the test file C:\ABINIT\Test_v1\t96 for alumina. But I get an output file saying
"chkinp: Checking input parameters for consistency, jdtset= 1." also no other output files are created. Can anyone please let me know what the problem is? is there any memory requirement which is not being met? Also, is it better to install ABINIT on Unix or will Windows work equally fine?
Thanking you in advance...
Joshi
Dear Joshi,
You choose a test case that is specifically designed to test the symmetriser,
and to stop after the checking of input variables !
See line 65 of the README file in the same directory ... (this might be
better documented, tough), and the input variable prtvol = -1 in
the t96.in input file.
If you have doubts that your version works for your system, try
other test cases,
and also, try to follow the tutorial (although the latter is easier to do
on a Unix machine).
There are Reference output files in the Refs directories
in each Test directory. In particular, the reference output file of your
test case is (in Windows naming conventions)
C:\ABINIT\Test_v1\Refs\t96.out
Good luck,
Xavier
