The XSF file you supplied works fine in xcrysden. So it's some problem with
my XSF file generated by cut3d.
I'm using version 1.4.1, the one with the xsf file fixed.
I edited out all density data and just wanted to visualise the unit cell's
and atomic positions. It appears as though this is a bad move - I don't know
why my Si doesn't work like the Cu_DEN Masatake supplied. I'll keep trying.
I'll give venus a try as well.

Dear Rick
Here I attached XSF file generated with abinit4.6.4&cut3d on linux PC.
This file can be read and visualized correctly by xcrysden(linux ver.),
and also by VENUS(see below).
If you want to use xsf format files on Windows,
how about using "VENUS" ? (visualization software, very easy to use)
