An update!

Actually, it does also crash with 4.5.2, just a bit later, with the same

p2_24604:  p4_error: net_recv read:  probable EOF on socket: 1

I also tried Salvador's

setenv P4_GLOBMEMSIZE 80000000

but to no avail... Some smaller jobs make it with 4.5.2 but not with 5.1.2

I hope this isn't a local bug or a mis-configuration on my part, but 
things used to run fine! I finished a whole phd on that machine...
