Hi,
If configure really keeps failing you can still compile abinit by hand.
Also we may be able to help you better if you'd tell us
1) what kind of machine is Seaborg (not a very informative name isn't it)
2) which compiler(s) you use
3) which options
(4) which OS are your running on
