Dear Yves,

I encountered the same problem on an IBM Power5 machine

../configure FCFLAGS_XMLF90="-bmaxstack:250000000 -bmaxdata:2000000000" 
FCFLAGS="-bmaxstack:250000000 -bmaxdata:2000000000"
make

seems to solve the problem
