Actually, I have no easy way to turn off the 'nolocal' option for mpirun (our mpi launching system is home-developped by our administrator, it launches jobs with mpiexec).sucks
A very good question. I spent some time searching for it. It happens after the writing of the 1WF file, but before the writing of the DDB file, I suspect towards the end of loper3. Maybe after the call to loper3, though.
Could you please tell me what routine is causing the hanging/slow writing/crashing in parallel mode for larger problems? Maybe we can take a look at it?
Probably part of one of the mpi_allreduce calls, but that's speculation too.
Also, in a more general setting, does abinis/abinip write anything out to /temp? Our local disks on compute nodes are ramdisks, which may be an issue?...Not unless you set the 6th line of the files file to point to temp. All writing is to the files named there (ie local)
