A very good question. I spent some time searching for it. It happens after 
the writing of the 1WF file, but before the writing of the DDB file, I 
suspect towards the end of loper3. Maybe after the call to loper3, though.
Probably part of one of the mpi_allreduce calls, but that's speculation 
too.

Not unless you set the 6th line of the files file to point to temp. All 
writing is to the files named there (ie local)
