Hi xd, The abinit tutorials I find give me a good idea of what pseudopotentials to try using for my particular problem, if I match my problem to the tutorials, and then compare results for my problem using two or more best-matched types of pseudopotentials. I believe that the present situation in QM will gradually give way to a more deterministic QM (as Einstein always expected) based more fundamentally on form-without-energy and information, and then unnatural choices (but not reasonable approximations) like pseudopotentials will become a thing of the past.
