This one worked. Now I have a version of mpif90 that was compiled with xlf. 
But the compilation of abinit still gives the same errors. These are:

problems with the files hdr_vs_dtset.F90 and m_sigma_results.F90

and after suppressing their compilation

ar: hdr_vs_dtset.o: No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [lib68_gw.a] Error 1

I gave detailed information about this earlier in this thread. I also 
provided preprocessed source files.

At the moment I am using the 11.1 version of xlf, but I also have 10.1 at 
hand. Should I try this downgrade and see whether the errors remain the same?
