Internal tests fail

I am trying to use Abinis for the first time. I have obtained the
open-source g95 compilier and the pclinux_g95_seq-4.6.5.tar file. After
extracting the tar file I get the abinitbin_seq-4.6.5 folder that the
installation notes suggest I should. When I try the first internal test by
executing make test1, the test ends in failure, with the message:

sh: .../abinis: cannot execute binary file

Does anyone know what I'm missing to successfully create my executables?
