I can see my abinis executable file in the abinitbin_seq-4.6.5 folder, and
it's properties say it is executable. The full transcipt resulting from the
make test1 is as follows:

cd Test_in; ./Run 1
Built-in test 1 will be run through dotest script
dotest: Starting built-in test 1
../abinis <test1.files> test1.log
sh: ../abinis: cannot execute binary file
cat: test1_STATUS: No such file or directory

I don't know if the first time there were three .../abinins or two ../abinis,
but running it now there is two, I probably made a mistake in my first
posting. I have a symbolic link for g95, f95, cpp, etc. in my /usr/bin
folder, I hope that is proper. I did install and successfully configure the
Quantum Espresso package that also uses these tools, so I assumed they are
fine.
