Hi,

Please note that ABINIT 5.1.2 should only be used for development. There are
still some bugs in the 5.1 build system, as far as compiler detection is 
concerned.

Editing the makefile is not a good idea, as it is generated by a script and 
will
be overwritten each time you configure the package.

The right way to proceed with XLF and ABINIT 5.1 is to force the wrapping of 
the
Fortran compiler, by using the "--enable-fortran-wrapper" option to the
"configure" script. You might also have to use some of the "*mpi*" options 
(just
type "./configure --help" for a complete list of available options) to have 
the
parallel version built.
