This occurs because Abinit has been substantially enhanced between 5.4.4 and
5.6.4, which has increased the probability to trigger a PGI bug.

Something similar happens with gfortran 4.1: 5.4.4 builds fine, but 5.6.4
gives a "not implemented error". Thus, for 5.6.4, you have to switch to a more
recent version.

The same holds in your case: you have to switch to a more recent version of
PGI, where the bug has been fixed ... or change for a compiler with less bugs.
