To Alain: it looks like the tgz is ok, as Edouard was able to build
wannier90 independently.

To Ting or Edouard: we really need some more info, in particular config.log
I have successfully built just about every version of abinit on a
platform identical to the one you cite (my laptop).
Please do check the MD5 sum wrt Alain's post, though - this is the
simplest explanation.
