Hi,

1)Usualy on computers where only batch job are allowed, people use to
launch 'batch shells' (submitting a job which open an interactive
shell) which allow them using an interactive environment. Doesn't this
trick works for you ?

2)On power5 machine I used to compile abinit with the following command line:
../configure FC="xlf90 -O3 " FCFLAGS="-O3"
or
../configure FC="mpif90 -O3" FCFLAGS="-O3" --enable-mpi

3) I don't expect lots of changes between 5.2 and 5.3 build systems...
