Dear Kris,
You might try with -O0 although, according to my experience, lowering the
optimization doesn't help solve the problem.
It seems that PGI doesn't like the GW part at all!
For PGIv6, I had to patch the code in order to completely remove the GW
routines.
More recent versions of PGI are not able to compile basic modules required
in several parts of the implementation thus patching the code has became
very difficult and painful.
I've encountered problems very similar to the ones you are reporting.
unfortunately, PGI doesn't provide explicative error messages and
understanding what's going wrong is not so easy.
That's also the reason why PGI has been recently removed from the
set of compilers that are systematically tested during our developments.
Note that version 5.8.3 compiles and runs correctly on several platforms.
It has been tested with gfortran43, ifc10, g95 and xlf.
You might try one of these compilers, especially if you are planning
to do GW calculations.
Best Regards
Matteo Giantomassi
